Flag Quiz
Name the country from its flag, against the clock.
What it is
A flag appears and you name the country it belongs to, as many as you can before the clock runs out. It's the fastest game in Globely and the one most people start with.
How to play
- Pick Normal or Expert from the card, or one of the two practice modes.
- A flag appears at the bottom of the screen. Type the country's name, a list narrows as you type, and press Enter.
- Right answers light the country green on the map behind you and add to your streak. Wrong ones show you where the country actually was.
- Hit the target number of flags before the timer hits zero and the round is won.
Normal and Expert
Both levels are built from the same date seed, so everyone gets the same deck on the same day. Normal deals a smaller set weighted towards flags most people have seen. Expert deals more of them and digs into the harder half of the world: Pacific island states, central Asian republics, the flags that are three similar stripes.
The clock isn't fixed. It's calculated from how obscure the deck turned out to be, so an Expert round full of lookalike tricolours gets more seconds than a Normal round of famous flags. Finish with ten seconds or less to spare and the result screen says so; finish with more than half the clock left and it tells you you're an expert.

- Options: endless flags with four choices, useful when you're learning rather than testing.
Tips
Learn the families first. The Nordic cross tells you a flag is Scandinavian before you know which one. Pan-African red-gold-green, pan-Arab red-white-black-green and the Soviet-era red stars each cover a dozen countries. Once the family is obvious, you're choosing between three or four options instead of 197.
